More Than a Jersey: Designing the New Look for the Pasadena Tar Heels
Some projects are about creating something that looks good. Others are about creating something that represents people, pride, and purpose. Designing the new uniforms for the Pasadena Tar Heels was one of those projects.
When I first started working on this design, I knew I didn't want to create just another basketball jersey. I wanted to create something the players would be proud to wear every time they stepped onto the court. A uniform should represent the identity of the team, the community behind it, and the standard they're striving to uphold.
The design process focused on balancing tradition with a modern athletic look. Every detail—from the typography and striping to the color placement—was intentional. I wanted the jerseys to feel clean, bold, and timeless while still bringing fresh energy to the program.
One of my favorite parts of any design project is seeing an idea move from a digital mockup to something real. Watching the jerseys come to life and knowing they'll be worn throughout the season is always rewarding. It's a reminder that good design isn't just about aesthetics—it's about creating something people connect with.
Projects like this are why I started Quame Creative. Whether it's a brand identity, marketing campaign, website, or athletic apparel, I love helping organizations tell their story through thoughtful design.
A huge thank you to the Pasadena Tar Heels for trusting me with this project and the homie Te for her input on these designs. I'm excited to see the team represent the new look this season, and I'm grateful to have played a small part in their journey.
If you're looking to elevate your organization's brand, apparel, or visual identity, I'd love to help bring your vision to life.
